THEN CAME ALEXANDRA, THE FIRST BOOK OF THE SOUTHERN LOVE SERIES

"You’re everything to me. More than everything."

Alexandra…

After a horrific accident working as a nurse in the emergency room, Alexandra becomes reclusive to the world around her. Unable to be speak or function, she pushes away her boyfriend, Paul, of two years. Her distance causes him to spend time with someone else…the betrayal causes her to pack her bags and leave everything behind. She doesn’t know what comfort she’ll find in Savannah, Georgia, but she flees anyway.

Blaise…

After inheriting the most lucrative cotton field in the south, Blaise has to become a man early in life. He spends his nights with different girls, knowing they are after his money and his special abilities in the bedroom, but he makes a serious mistake with Danielle. Now she lives with him and he guards a secret that he promises to keep…even though that secret is destroying his life. When Alexandra comes into town, her smile and compassion evident, Blaise wants her, and not just in a physical way. Unable to keep his distance, he falls for her, not knowing how long he can keep his secret…

My Review:

Where do I start

Alexandra is so scared of her past she will not let that go but she runs and makes her a new path in life! I can totally understand that when things happen in our life that is beyond our control we run and try to start over again. I   relate and I  understand Alexandra. I really connected with this character, but I did want to shake her a couple of times while reading this book. Alexandra is a gorgeous young lady who has a very promising career ahead of her, but is that what she really wants?

Martha is her aunt who loves Alexandra like a daughter. I have to say that Aunt Martha has my heart and I so would want her as an aunt. She is fierce, stubborn, and loves her guns!

Blaise is a whole different story! Blaise, Blaise, Blaise you can come and protect me any day of the week! Blaise is the exact example of a southern gentleman in my book. He is HOT, charming, and so caring it isn’t even funny. I feel for him though, he has so much responsibility that he has to carry and he just does it with no complaining. He doesn’t want to be in the cotton business but he does it for his family. Blaise has dreams of being a lawyer and he is trying little by little to make his dream  become a reality.

Paul is a douchbag who needs a good ass beating. Sorry I had to say it! Paul, you are not my favorite character at all and I hope you get what’s coming to you. Paul is a cheater and a liar! Yes he is cute and whatever but still dude you suck!

This story is so good it is full of lies and love. At the end of the day everyone has secrets that we are not willing to tell. Wrong…maybe but those are our secrets to tell. We just have to find the right person to bare our soul too! I Can’t wait for book 2 to come out, I am super excited to get my hands on it! I just have to say that I am a huge fan of Blaise! I love you. I have enjoyed every book that I have read by E.L. Todd and she never disappoints. EVER! I want to say thank you for allowing me to read your book, I am looking forward to reading many more books from you!

My favorite line in this book is "she was searching for an answer, but she hasn’t even found the question yet."

About the Author

My journey to this profession was slightly unorthodox. I received my bachelor's degree in biological sciences, worked as an award-winning researcher, and worked various jobs to pay the bills. While I enjoyed every moment of this adventure, it wasn't my passion. I've been writing since I was a young girl and have read anything that I can get my hands on. When people ask me what my favorite book is, I always respond, "All of them."

After I showed my work to my closest friends and gained their confidence, I realized that this is something I could commit my life to, something that I love. I never imagined--dreamed--that I could make a living as a writer. This is the greatest profession that I ever could have asked for, and I am so thankful for the support from everyone in my life. How many other jobs let you work in your pajamas?

My first novel, Soul Catcher, was released in August 2013, and my second novel, Soul Binders, will be released this fall. The Saga concludes in early 2014. I hope you've enjoyed reading this series as much as I've enjoyed writing it.
