Review for Tangled by Emma Chase

Tangled
By Emma Chase
5 Stars

In New York Times bestselling author Emma Chase’s sizzling and hilarious debut novel, Drew Evans—gorgeous, arrogant, irreverent, and irresistibly charming—meets his match in new colleague Kate Brooks.

Drew Evans is handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

My Review:

Andrew Evans (drew) is a very yummy man. He has so much confidence I would probably melt and get all rosy cheeked if he stopped and tried to speak to me, even if it was just to say “excuse me can I use your salt please”. I think I would die right then and there. He is a playboy, but a head strong business man. Oh….. I love how he describes his sister in this book. ( my older sister is just like her ) God love her!

Kate Brooks…. girl I bow down to you honey for having some strong willpower. Now Miss Brooks is a fierce business woman who worked way too hard to earn her current new position. I totally love her too. She sure can pack a mean punch that’s for sure and she can hold her own. I mean come on ladies….she is a woman’s woman strong, gorgeous, career driving, and I don’t need a man to take care of me woman. Hello!!!

I have to point out that all the characters in this story are funny and you will so be laughing out loud while reading this book. I mean Drew’s dad seems like that greatest dad ever. His sister Alexandra is what can I say blunt and loveable. OMG let’s not forget his cute as a button niece, who I just want to take home with me. I love her bad language jar. I so need one of those in my house. Who am I kidding I don’t because then I would be broke. No lie!

While reading this book I honestly smacked my boyfriend in the back of the head just for being a man. ( sorry Lee…oops ) I love how Emma Chase wrote this story! I mean come on you know most guys talk like that, they just don’t admit to it. I also laughed my but off while reading this book too. I so flipping enjoyed this book! This book is exactly what I needed to read. I got sucked into the life of Andrew Evans and I want to stay in it forever. The writing is so darn good, so good that it feels like you are sitting on the couch next to him while he is telling you and only you his story. Yes, I wish I could of comforted him while he has the flu. Sorry I am just being honest here. I couldn’t put this book down, my mission was to devour it and I succeeded. I felt as if he was walking me through his entire disaster, oh wait he was and it was wonderful. Sounds crazy, maybe!

So with all that being said I can’t tell you what happens, why you ask?! Well you need to so go out and read this book!

About the Author:

By day, Emma Chase is a devoted wife and mother who resides in a small, rural town in New Jersey. By night she toils away the hours bringing her colorful characters and their endless antics to life. She has a long standing love/hate relationship with caffeine.

Emma is an avid reader. Before her children were born she was known to consume whole books in a single day. Writing has also always been a passion and with the 2013 release of her debut romantic comedy, Tangled, the ability to now call herself an author is nothing less than a dream come true.

Some of Emma's favorite quotes from Tangled -

"You are making me crazy!"

"Crazy like you want to rip my shirt off again?"

"No - crazy like the itch of a yeast infection that won't go away!"

"And I will be damned if Kate Brooks is going to walk her ass in here and take that away from me. No matter how fine of an ass it may be."

"Words are cheap. Actions win wars. Actions heal wounds."

"It makes me want to kiss her and strangle her at the same time. I've never been into S&M. But I'm beginning to see its benefits."
