Review for Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine by Gail Honeyman

Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she’s thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy.   But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office. When she and Raymond together save Sammy, an elderly gentleman who has fallen on the sidewalk, the three become the kinds of friends who rescue one another from the lives of isolation they have each been living. And it is Raymond’s big heart that will ultimately help Eleanor find the way to repair her own profoundly damaged one.  Soon to be a major motion picture produced by Reese Witherspoon,  Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine is the smart, warm, and uplifting story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine whose deadpan weirdness and unconscious wit make for an irresistible journey as she realizes. . .     The only way to survive is to open your heart.

My 4 star review

This book broke my heart. I have no idea how and why a mother would be so cruel to their child.

Eleanor is not like your average thirty year old woman. Hell she is better than average. She is her own person and she doesn't care what other people think about her.

I can honestly say that I adore Eleanor. She has been through so much and yet she is still standing semi strong.

Raymond is Eleanor's co worker and they end up being really good friends. He helped her with something huge! One could even say that he saved her.

I really thought that the ending would be different and I totally wanted to girl to get the guy or the guy get the girl...

But this ending was perfection! Because at the end of this book Eleanor became a completely different stronger version of herself. And let's face it that is a million times better than the girl getting to guy or the guy getting the girl!

While reading this book Maroon 5 She will be loved kept playing over and over again in my mind.

Enjoy Bookies
