Review for Chasing Destiny by J. D. Rivera

Kristin…

College, a breakup, and a friendship.

Doesn’t sound bad at all until you put all three of those together and you come out with the most life changing news of my life.

If what started off as an innocent, fun night caused me to lose the one person I wanted more than anything, I didn't know how I would ever get past it.

Carson…

I’d had my heart torn out and stomped on once before, and I vowed to never let it happen again.

But…

Enter Kristin. Fun, beautiful, full of life Kristin. I never expected a friendship with her, and I definitely didn’t expect her to completely change my life.

If I couldn't get past her mistake and learn to live with its outcome, then I would lose everything, and I didn't know if I could live with that.

My 5 Star Review

I loved this book! I truly did.
Carson is a guy who likes to sleep around and when I say like...I mean he really likes to sleep around. He had his heart broken a million years ago and has sworn of women.
Kristin just broke up with her artist boyfriend, who decided he wanted her and the single life. So while she was getting over that her roommate moved out and she needed to replace her.
So....she comes Carson her new sexy slutty roommate. The two are friends and living together they grew closer.
Now I want to tell you about this entire book but I can't. Because I don't want to spoil it for you.
I guarantee this book will have you in tears and it will for sure play with your heartstrings.
The very last chapter of this book made me cry and it filled my heart with all kinds of joy!
I will tell you that this book is my life but in a twisted reverse way. I can honestly say that I feel the exact same way that Carson feeling in the epilogue.
JD Rivera you did an amazing job with this book! Thank you so much for wanting me to read it. I absolutely loved it and I touched my heart! You have no idea how much this story means to me. Thank you!

Review for Latch by LK Collins

LATCH by [Collins, LK]

When New York City’s most desirable male escort gets caught, things get messy.

Latch Teracino is God’s gift to women. He’s everything you’ve ever dreamed of in a man, and he’ll fulfill your hottest fantasies, all for a price. He makes a very good living pleasing the rich and famous. Like Abby McEllrath, married to Major League Baseball’s biggest all-star, which often leaves her at home, lonely and bored.

After years of neglect and disrespect from a man who promised to give her the world, she meets Latch in the most unlikely setting. For Latch, she’s just another client – it’s the way he works. And for Abby, she adapts. However, as time progresses, their explosive connection transforms from dirty, raw sex into so much more than just a paid relationship.

Lines are crossed.

Rules are broken.

And lives are shattered.

In the end, Latch and Abby have to make a choice, one that will forever change the course they were destined to be a part of. But sometimes a simple choice isn’t that easy, especially when the one you leave behind would rather die than live without you.

***This book is an Erotic Romance novel and contains mature subject matter. It is not intended for those under 18 years of age.***

My 5 Star Review:

When I first started this book I didn't know what to think.
I mean what is there to really think about when the main character is a hot tattooed escort....just saying.
Kidding....but seriously!
Latch is this hot tattooed escort, who will leave you begging for more. I wasn't sure how to take him at first.
Then Abby happened and I want this to be a pretty woman masterpiece....and boy did L.K. Collins give me pretty woman reversed times twenty.
I promise you that this book will have you engrossed from beginning to end. Hell I am sitting here pissed because I am needing book two ASAP.
I am also pissed because Darryl is a complete dick who needs his ass beat bigtime. Let me just tell you that I will be happy to be the one to do it too.

Review: Roommates by Hazel kelly

Ethan Fitzell has been avoiding his stepsister Jenny since their parents got married, but when she shows up at his apartment uninvited, he's forced to face the fact that her absence has only made his heart grow fonder...

Jenny

I always liked him.

But when our parents got married, things got confused. As if being a teenager isn't confusing enough.

All I knew was that the feelings I had for him weren't okay.

I’ll never forget the anxiety I felt the night I ran into him at a party that had gotten out of control.

I saw him standing around with the popular kids as soon as I walked in the door.

And he saw me, too. He always saw me. It was talking to me that he avoided.

I watched his buddy spin an empty wine bottle on the butcher block while my friend Brandi rummaged in her oversized purse for the two bottles of hard lemonade her older sister gave us.

When the spinning bottle stopped, I realized everyone was staring at me.

“Looks like you’ve gotta kiss Jen,” some jock said to Ethan.

I felt the color drain from my face, taking the moisture in my mouth with it as a suffocating panic grew in my chest. I was going to be found out.

Ethan laughed it off. “Yeah, that’s not happening. She’s my sister.”

“Not really, though,” his buddy insisted.

The eruption of laughter and jeering sounds made the dim kitchen feel like a jungle full of predators, and I was sure my cheeks were going to burst into flames.

“Don’t be stupid,” Ethan said, tilting a can of beer over his mouth.

When his friend spun the bottle again, Ethan glanced back at me one more time and wiped the back of his hand across his lips.

I’ve been wondering what it would be like to kiss him ever since.

**Author's note: This is a full-length, standalone romance novel with no cliffhanger and no cheating. It is intended for a mature audience and has an ending that will leave you smiling so hard it hurts.

My 4 Star Review:

Roommates was a funny feel good book. I enjoyed reading this book the entire time.

During this book I felt really back for the main characters because they both had this huge chemistry pull and then their parents decide to start dating. Their parents eventually got married and then that was over for them.

I felt so bad for him because he has been running for years and going through women like crazy just to get her out of his mind.

Then she graduates from college and needs a place to stay in the big city. The best part is when he walks in and she interrupted him with a women....he didn't even know he was going to have a house guest.

I love how you get to read what these characters are thinking and feeling. He made my heart swell. He has always loved her but he never knew what that aching feeling really was.

Overall Hazel Kelly yet again gave me another to devour and love. She is a flipping rock star!!!!

About the Author:

Review: Me Before You by JoJo Moyes

They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . .

Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.

Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

A Love Story for this generation and perfect for fans of John Green’s The Fault in Our StarsMe Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

My 5 star review:

***Warning***
If you have not read this book, please don't read this review.
This book torn my heart to pieces. I have owned this book for months now but I didn't want to read it until I was ready to go and see the movie. Now I am sitting here thinking I barely made it through this book, so how in the world am I going to make it through the movie.
This book I guarantee will change your life. There is a huge valuable lesson right here in this very book.
Clark is a very unique one of a kind woman. She can careless what people think about here and how she is dressed. She is living life for her parents. She works to get money and then she turns around and gives most of it to her parents. Which by the way is a very honorable thing to do.
Will is a man who got into a huge accident that has left him unable to move, dance, or even drink on his own. He is no longer the man he used to me.
He no longer wants to live but when his new caregiver Clark comes....she gives him a little life back but I am not sure if it will be enough to save his life.
I will tell you that this book has a very sad/happy ending.
Once you read the letter that Will wrote to Clark you will be sobbing like a baby. Then you will sit back and realize that this book was really never about Will he made entirely about Clark.
While reading this book my heart was invested in the fight to keep Will alive and I really believed that the author would not let me down. But eventually she did and when I read the chapter about Will going to his eternal Switzerland my heart felt like it shattered to a million pieces.
I wanted to be selfish and have him live even though his life was draining him and he was slowly dying on the inside out.
It is crazy because on this day back in 2012 I was just as selfish as Clark. My grandmother was taking her last breath and I had to shallow my emotions and let her make her own decision.
I have read a lot of books over the years and I will tell you that Will and Clark now have a very special place in my heart.
This story can happen to anyone and I am sure it has before and it will again. So the bottom line here is....

Live your life like it is your last breath. Love with no regrets. Take chances and step out of your box because you and I are not promised tomorrow.

Interview with Teagan Hunter

I adore this author! I will let you know a little secret...I literally bumped into this incredible woman at a book signing a million years ago. (kidding, it was not that long ago) While standing in line, we talked about so many books. She blew me away with her passion! So please sit back and enjoy the interview....

1. What made you want to be an author?
I started writing cheesy fanfics when I was younger and took all the creative writing classes I could during high school. I’d been slowly working my way up to novels for a couple years. After I found the Here’s To characters and fell in love with them, I gained the courage to publish.

2. What piece of advice would you give to a new and upcoming author?
Write for yourself first. Always. If you don’t love what you’re writing, no one else will.

3. What is your favorite quote and why?
By me? Or someone else?

By me it’s: “Take it, Rae. The time that you need, take it. I don’t care how long it is—take it. We’re going to make it through this because I’ll never stop loving you, and damn if I don’t know that our love is enough. I won’t give up that easily and I don’t think you will either. So take your time. I’ll be here waiting for you when you’re ready.”

By someone else: “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” — Confucius

4. Who is your favorite author?
Colleen Hoover. But don’t tell her I said that.

5. What is your next project?
I’m currently between a couple manuscripts. Here’s to Now (Gaige’s book), an untitled emotional YA, and an untitled novella for an unannounced novella series.

6. How did you come up with the Here's To series?
Life! I wanted to create characters you could see being your best friends. All the events in the series are average, every day happenings. With this series, I wanted realism.

7. If you could co-write with another fellow author, who would you pick?
Oh, man. I’ve honestly never thought of this. I’d be scared, actually. I have a good friend, D.B. James, who is releasing her debut novel this summer who I swear I share a brain with. Probably her.

8. Out of all the characters that you have written, who is your favorite one?
Gaige. He’s basically my husband. Not in a creepy way, but in a realistic one. My husband has a lot of similar characteristics Gaige does. I should also note I never set out for Gaige to be a huge character and almost nixed him completely. I think he’s everyone’s favorite now.

9. What is your favorite book?
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. It taught me so much about life.

10. A freebie question... Give us a question and then give us your best answer ;) knock ‘em girl!
What’s your favorite thing about being an author? Answer: Not having to wear a bra.

Can Maura overcome her perfect image and finally be true to herself and her heart?

You ever realize that what you’re doing and where you are in life isn’t where you’re supposed to be?

I did.

My name is Maura Doughers. I’m perfect. I have the ideal soldier boyfriend and all the money a twenty-two year old girl could dream of. My life is just like it should be. But it’s nothing close to what I want.

I’m beginning to realize the person I am isn’t who I’m meant to be….and maybe the person I’m with isn’t the one for me. Is what I feel love or lust? I don’t know…

What I really want is forbidden and most certainly not something my parents would approve of. But what about me? What about what I want?

Well, I’m about to get it. No matter the consequences.

*While technically part of the Here's To series, this CAN be read as stand-alone as each book will follow a different couple.*
**Recommended for 18+ audience for explicit language and sexual situations.**

Moments are fickle. Sometimes all you get is a split second to make a decision. Other times you have what seems like an eternity and what you think is the right choice could be the biggest mistake you ever make.

Rae Kamden and Hudson Tamell have lived in a perfect bubble since the day their relationship was almost destroyed. They’ve laughed, smiled, loved, and moved on from all that has weighed them down in the past. Or so they thought.

After almost a year of bliss, things have suddenly shifted for the worse. Lies are being told, questions are gone unanswered, and nothing is as it should be. Can they mend their relationship and move forward together? Or will they give up on what they thought was their forever?

This is a novella. Approx 40,000 words.
It is highly recommended that you read Here's to Tomorrow first.
Recommended for 18+ audience for explicit language and sexual situations.

About the Author:

I’m a romance cover artist by day and a writer by…well, every free moment I get. I currently live in NC with my US Marine (OORAH!) husband, where I spend my days bugging him about getting a cat so our puppy won’t be alone (he keeps saying no). I survive off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. When I’m not writing, you can find me binge-watching various TV shows, especially Supernatural. I like cold weather, I buy more paperbacks than I’ll ever read, and I never match my socks—unless they’re fuzzy.

I’m weird. It’s kind of my “thing.”
