Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away. Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend Sarah giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It's Jack, the man from the bus. It would be. What follows for Laurie, Sarah and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness.
My 4 star review:
First off thank you Instagram! If I wasn't for the countless people on there posting this book I would of never known about it. So naturally I ran to the bookstore and grabbed me a copy.
I feel in love after the first chapter. I mean love at first sight! When Laurie and the guy at the bus stops eyes locked my heart sank! I felt the butterflies too! I got goosebumps. Goosebumps people!!!
I had no idea that she would put her love life on hold for so long just to try and find that one guy! Like that is sweet, romantic, and crazy all at the same time.
Then... BOOM!!
Her best friend meet this guy named Jack at her work and now he is her boyfriend. Eeeek!!!
Now there is a lot going on here. You got relationships, break ups, marriages, and a divorce. This book will definitely give you the feels and I will definitely make you think....
What if?!
Go and grab this book, I promise you will love this book!!
The song playing over and over in my head while reading this book was Love Song by 311. Happy reading book nerds ;)
