Review for Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

Risk everything . . . for love.

What if you couldn’t touch anything in the outside world? Never breathe in the fresh air, feel the sun warm your face . . . or kiss the boy next door? In Everything, Everything, Maddy is a girl who’s literally allergic to the outside world, and Olly is the boy who moves in next door . . . and becomes the greatest risk she’s ever taken.
My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He's tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

Everything, Everything will make you laugh, cry, and feel everything in between. It's an innovative,  inspiring, and heartbreakingly romantic debut novel that unfolds via vignettes, diary entries, illustrations, and more.

My 5 star review:

Once I got done reading this book I was so upset and lost. My heart hurt for Madeline. I woke my husband up and told him everything.

I am not going to go into everything because you already know that she is extremely sick with a rare disease and anything and everything can kill her.

So with her being trapped inside her prison aka home...but I like prison better she meets her new neighbor Olly.

Now this is where the book gets so good that you just can't put it down. I absolutely loved the authors writing style. It is as if you are inside Maddy's head and you see what she sees and you feels what she feels.

Olly is broken. He has an emotionally and mentally abusive father. But he is strong and I just love his character. He is broken and she is broken. It is the perfect fit. They can be strong for One another.

So anyway I am reading this book and loving and then my world is flipped upside down and then I turn to my husband and I tell him what I think will happen and what I need to happen.

AND THEN......IT HAPPENS!!!!!

I push through because shit is getting real and that is when it happens. Tears start to form in my eyes because of her pain and then my heartstrings start to rip apart.

When I say the writing is perfection, it is. This author made me feel every emotion that Maddy's felt! I was dedicated to this book. I needed a miracle to happen because I wanted this wonderful amazing young woman to live and live her life forever!

AND then my heart aches because...well you will just have to read it for yourself.

Now I have to pass this book to my sister, so I can watch the movie!
