Review for Flightless by L. Duarte

Everyone has a story.

Mine went like this: Once upon a time, I met a boy. He was the most handsome fella in the land. I fell in love. Together, we had cosmic chemistry. I believed I would live a life of unending bliss. Until he broke my heart. Shattered it to pieces. And I lived unhappily ever after instead. The end.

Or so I thought.

Life found a way to reunite us. But to change that unhappy ending, I had to learn how to forgive. And my heart seemed unable to do so.

This is a love story. But it is also, much more. It’s the story of how I coped with my shortcomings, my fears and rewrote my destiny. Everyone has a story. This is mine.

My 5 star review

L. Duarte I have read all of your books and they are all amazing but Flightless is on a whole new level for me. This book was a complete shocker for me.
How you managed to make me hate the man of my dreams but then turn around and make me want to grovel for his forgiveness.
This story is about two young teenagers who are madly in love. They are wanting and planning to grow together, get married, have babies, and even grandbabies.
Then he does something that is unforgiving and he ends up breaking her heart.
So she leaves her home town and tries to find herself through music. She is now a super famous music artist. She took all of the hurtful memories of her past and turned them into hit records.
But one phone call had her running back to her home town and now all her locked up emotions are running wild. She is turning into the woman that she swore she would never become again.
Now that is all I am willing to say because I don’t want to spoil this read for you.
I will tell you that this book is not predictable. While reading this book I was sitting there in shock, I mean my mouth was literally hanging open with what unfolds
I loved this book. This book brought out so many emotions for me. I was happy, sad, pissed off, in love, and swooned.
Again L. Duarte you did a hell of a job with this book. As soon as you emailed me I had a huge smile of my face. That is exactly what your books do to me. All of your books have touched my heart and soul.
You have no idea how much I needed this book right now. I have a few people I think I need to forgive and life is too short, we are not promised tomorrow.
 Enjoy reading!

About the Author:
I have found that there is only one thing better than reading, and that is writing. I am always torn between the two. I am also frequently torn between chocolate and coffee. However, I emphatically do not like the month of February, lies, and flies. For me, bravery is defined by the courage to do what we fear the most.
One of my all-time favorite quote is from Albert Einstein. "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." I live according to the latter, so is fair to say my writing will always include miracles. And by that I mean, lots of love, hope, and faith. These are some of the greatest miracles of life. I live in Connecticut with my husband and two children. Drop a few lines. I would love to hear from you.
