Review for Mr. X by Clarissa Wild

USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR Clarissa Wild brings you Mr. X, a dark Romance thriller, which is a stand alone without cliffhanger.

*Author Note: This is not your average romance story. Some people will kill for love.*

He’s come to kill me.
I’m a user and abuser of my own body. In the darkest hour I sold my soul to the devil and now I must pay the price. With his gun to my head I have no choice but to listen and obey, but I refuse to go down easily. Nothing is stronger than the will to survive. My instincts kicked into full gear the second he stepped into my motel room.
Except when I look at him I see my own heart staring back at me. A history tainted by blood.
I don’t know his name, but I know he wants me. To save myself I’ll sacrifice my sanity. My body. My soul. Something tells me the x-shaped scar that marks his eye is the only escape I have. He is Mr. X; the man who comes to claim my life. Can I save myself before he demands my heart?

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, strong language, drugs and alcohol, and graphic violence.

My 4 star review

Mr. X is a killer, period. He is a paid assassin and is damn good at his job. He is tall, built, covered in tattoos, and has a scar in the shape of an X on his eye. He has been in the assassin organization since he was a small child. His mother and father never gave him a choice; they turned him into a monster.

“Punishment is justice for the unjust.” –Saint Augustine

Jay is a girl who abuses her body with sex and drugs. She has done this for so long that she knows nothing different. She works as a stripper and for extra money, gives oral sex to her clients, but never gives up her goodies to them. With everything that has happened to her she is a very strong and brave woman. But she tends to need drugs to make her feel numb so she can just deal with life.

“The first step toward success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself.”- Mark Caine

Mr. X and his family used to work for Jay’s father. Jay and Mr. X used to play together when they were kids. They were in each other’s lives for quite some time. Once they got older feelings got involved, which resulted in how Mr. X got his scar. And that is also the dame incident where Jay bumps her head and forgets her past. Mr. X hates Jay now and I mean HATES!!

For death begins with life’s first breath and life begins at touch of death.”-John Oxenham

But with a hit on Jay’s head, Mr. X finds himself doing whatever it to protect her. But… is he protecting her because he has those old feels stirring or is he just wanting to keep her alive long enough to give him the chance to kill her himself, since it is her fault he’s ending up this way?

“Time does not exist, only the notion that is does makes us believe we have control over it.”

-Clarissa Wild

While reading this book you will notice the author does an amazing job at keeping information from you, making you have to just sit there and take it! This book is full of lust, sex, revenge, love, passion, seduction, and plenty more. I love Mr. X and know he can’t help that he is a monster. He knows that. He just is the way he is and his parents are completely too blame for that. I enjoyed this book and I wish it didn’t end the way it did. However it was to be expected with having been warned in the very beginning… Though there in no cliffhanger in this story, one will still want more of Mr. X and Jay, Ms. Wild won’t disappoint you. I give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars only because well I just don’t like how it ended. But put that aside and it’s a 4 out of 5…
