Review for Covered in Coal By Silla Webb

Covered in Coal

By Silla Webb

**This book is intended for a mature reading audience and isn't suitable for readers under the age of 18.**

Carly Jo Simon believed that Colton Weston was her future, but he shattered her heart into tiny pieces. Just like any little girl would, she assumed her daddy would always be by her side. Unbelievably, he turned his back on her when she needed him most, leaving her with no one in her life to turn to for support. Without options, Carly runs away from the only home she's ever known, leaving behind her heartache and the betrayal of the two men she loved most.

Seven years later, Carly reluctantly returns to Kentucky. Her daddy is dying of cancer and Colton is nothing like the boy she once loved and left. After her daddy passes, Carly must uproot her life in South Carolina and take control of Simon Coal Company, where she has no choice but face the pain of her past.

Can Carly keep her secrets buried deep beneath the black Kentucky coal and her heart safe from the fiery Colton Weston?

My 5 star review
Carly Jo Simon is a spit fire! She is fierce, strong, stubborn, and her mouth is something else. She sure was a daddy’s girl growing up. She is a very lovable character and when she goes through hell all you will want to do is pull her out and save her.
Colton is lovely manly man! He can yell and shout at me any day. Some may think that he is a bad guy for what he has done, but I disagree. In my opinion he has come a very long way. Yes, I do have a mini crush on this character and you will too.
Big John Simon you are something else mister and my god you remind me of my grandfather. You will definitely love to hate this character for sure. I have no more words for this character and you will see why!
Savannah’s is the sweetest sister ever and my heart broke for her too.  I just want to slap her husband, just because. She missed out so much of her baby sister’s life and now she is so happy to have her back. Hell I wouldn’t mind having a sister like her.
Luke use to go to school with Carly and Colton and he is a nice tall glass of water. I mean I want to move to Kentucky now. They way he is described in this book is so very nice. He is a very broken soul and I just want to hold him and give him anything and everything to make him happy.
There are so many secrets in this book and there is always a price to pay when it comes to secrets. Secrets can rip families apart with a blink of an eye. Sometimes we think that we should keep our secrets to ourselves so others don’t get hurt or sometimes those secrets end up blowing up in our faces. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book is full of everything to love, romance, lies, secrets, betrayals and more. I want to go on and on about this book but I don’t want to give anything way.
But I guarantee you this book will leave you feeling all of the characters emotions. While reading this book it felt like I was watching an awesome lifetime movie. I was laying in bed hiding under the covers reading this book, because I couldn’t put it down. Let’s just say a certain someone took my electronic devices away for a day, yes I was and am addicted to this book.
All I can say is that I can’t wait for book 2 to come out!!!

Review for Blissful Tragedy By Amy L. Gale

Blissful Tragedy

By Amy L. Gale

Sometimes love is more than tragedy or bliss.

Ambitious 22-year-old Lexie Waters is intent on taking the advertising world by storm. When she’s offered the soon to be open position she’s been vying for at a swanky advertising agency, there’s only one last summer separating her from dreams of corporate success. Still bitter from catching her boyfriend cheating, she heads out for a night of fun to see her favorite band, Devil’s Garden, but fun turns into utter embarrassment when she insults the enticingly confident lead singer, Van Sinclair. Van is intrigued by Lexie’s ability to resist his charm and secretly obtains her cell number. Shocked but eager to get to know this captivating rocker, Lexie accepts Van’s invitation to see his next show, which requires an overnight stay. The overwhelming feelings that follow take them both by surprise, and with two months left before starting her sought after new position, Lexie joins the tour. As she’s catapulted into the world of groupies and wild parties, she questions Van’s commitment to her. So what happens at summer’s end when time runs out?

My 5 star review:

First off…I got hooked into the book at 6%. I have been acting like a giddy school girl while reading this book. I mean the text messages had my cheeks turning pink. Oooooh, to have those butterflies in the beginning it is so damn cute. I am so jealous right now, it isn’t even funny.
Van Sinclair you my dear sweet, sexy, rock-star, you are so much more than music and I think a have a hug crush on you now. He has had a lot of tragedies to last a life time. He has never been in love, he only in the moment kind of guy. I mean he is a rock god, who would blame him. When he meets Alexis all of that changes….
Alexis Waters you are a very lucky girl and you are beautiful and you need to give yourself way more credit then you allow yourself to get. I am very jealous of you! Just saying... She is strong, caring, independent, and over all just not like most women.
Jesse you are a douche bag and I hope you get your ass beat good! Your excuse of you drank too much and you have a moment of weakness, PLEASE! Dude you give guys a bad name, so stop while you are ahead, please. (Lee you are lucky you aren’t here, I would so give you the evil eye as a warning. LOL)
This story is a total must read and I am so happy that Amy L. Gale asked me to read her book! Amy you did a fabulous job with this story. I read your book in less than four hours, because I couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with Van Sinclair and Alexis Waters and I was so sad that their story ended. Hold me while I cry.

OMG and please, please when he sang faithfully at the karaoke bar. I cried and then text my boyfriend and told him he better serenade me sometime in the near future. I loved every part of this book. I mean there are some characters in this book that I can’t stand, Jesse you know who you are. Overall this book is crazy good and you need to go out and get this book, because you will love it.

Forgiveness by Angel

Forgiveness
Is the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, let go of negative emotions such as revenge, with an increased ability to wish the offender well.

I use to hate this word with a passion. I mean really forgiveness, please. If I ever saw you again I would slap the shit out of you and spit in your face.
Now that I am older and a mother, I forgive you. I use to hate you so much and then I pitied you and now I just plain old forgive you.
I forgive you telling me that I was the most beautiful little girl in the world.
I forgive you for telling me that what you did to me was my punishment for being beautiful.
I forgive you for tormenting me in your basement, and that I still for this day get scared going into any basement.
I forgive you for scaring me for life.
I forgive you for all the years of fucked up shit I did.
I forgive you for making me feel ugly in my own skin.
I forgive you for killing a piece of my soul.
I forgive you for breaking my heart.
I forgive you for ruining my innocence.
I forgive you for hurting them too.
I forgive you for everything!!
I am sorry I wasn't there when you died and I am sorry that I was happy you died. I was happy, because I knew you would never hurt another person ever again.
I NOW forgive you and I forgive myself.....

Review for Sawyer Says By: Carey Heywood

Sawyer Says
By: Carey Heywood

Sawyer says…
Casual flings are the only way to go.
Everyone you trust eventually leaves.
Falling in love is for anyone, but her.

What else would she say when all she knows is loss and abandonment? Sawyer Sterling learned too young that depending on anyone else will get her nothing but heartache in the end. Never shying away from outwardly showing her love, she struggles accepting it herself. Stubbornly, she vows to never risk her heart.

Dealing with revelations she never saw coming, her impulse is to distance herself from emotional entanglements. When her past collides with her present, can Jared Keller help prove to her just how wrong her assumptions are? He is the exception to her argument that everyone leaves. Will she ever see him as something she deserves?

My Review

I am in total shock right now! Carey Heywood you did it again. I am a sobbing crying mess right now! I loved Him and Her, but this book is the best! This book deserves way more than 5 damn stars, I am sorry.

Sawyer is not like any other woman out there. She is fierce, independent, strong, stubborn, and freaking awesome. She has had a crap live. Her parents passed away at a young age and she was tossed around from place to place. While reading this book all I wanted to do want hold Sawyer and tell her that everything would be ok. Oh and let me tell you this woman is B.O.L.D. and she had rolling.

Jared you my dear are delicious and I have a huge crush on you. Jared has known Sawyer since she was a child and has always been in her life. He is sex on a stick! (sorry mother) He is everything you have ever wanted in a man and much more. He is strong, sexy, caring, and simply perfect. I will take him! (sorry Lee) I mean people he is so OMG! He is every womans dream man, baby can take care of me all day any day. I will not complain! (again, i am sorry Lee)

While reading this book I feel back in love with Sawyer and Jared. This book is so well written and I read this whole book in one day. I couldn’t put it down, I needed to finish it. I wanted to shake Sawyer a couple times and kiss Jared a lot of times. (sorry Lee) But all joking aside, Carey Heywood you got me again and I cried like a damn baby. I will not go full force on you guys but let’s just say when Sawyer sees Carmen again your heart will break and melt at the same time.

To be 100% honest, yes I was super excited to hear about another book coming out. I mean if you have read Him and Her you would say the same thing. I am just in shock and I have to say that this book is crushing Him and Her. I am sorry to say that because I loved both of those books very much! So right now Carey Heywood I bow down to you for writing another kick-ass book!

Please never ever stop writing! You rock, your brilliant, your amazing, and please write me more amazing stories.

Review for Reflection By: Elene Sallinger

Reflection

Release Day May 6th, 2014

4 Stars

When Two Bodies Collide...

The moment Bridget Ross and Connor Reynolds run into each other on the street—quite literally while out on a run—tempers flare. But when the two get together for an apology coffee date, it's clear that the coffee isn't the only thing steaming.

Connor is a charming artist without purpose. His own tragic past prevents him from putting down roots or committing to anything. Bridget is feisty but guarded. She's aching to fill a void in her life but is wracked with guilt over her past and denies herself true pleasure. Can this gorgeous man tempt Bridget to finally succumb to her desires?

My Review:

This is the first book that I have read from Elene Sallinger and this will not be the last…. I really enjoyed this story. This book is written beautifully and is such an easy read. I didn’t want to put this book down!
Bridget is a beautiful, gorgeous, and sexy older woman. She is a professor at the university and she is all about her work and her students. Helping her students is her passion. Bridget is what you would call a closed book due to her past and I don’t blame her at all. I really love this character! While reading this book all I wanted to do want take her and put her in my pocket and keep her safe.
Conner is well Conner. He is a 28 years old man, who is sexy, rough, and talented. (If you know what I mean) Conner has had a rough life and he hides his past very well. He is that type of man that likes what he wants when he wants it. He is a janitor at the university and well most woman do not want a janitor as a lover. Me….I am not that shallow, I am just saying. LOL
Bridget and Conner meet while running and their encounter leaves each other wondering what in the hell just happened. Bridget was rude and running her encounter with Conner over in her mind. She wished she knew who he was so she could ask him to forgive her rude behavior. Once they see each other again it is a world-wind. I love the chemistry these two have, but it isn’t always a happy ending it is?!
I want to go on and on about this book but I won’t, because I want you to read this and see for yourself. All of the characters in this book are lovely and I want to know all of their stories. Let’s be honest here everyone has a story whether it is pretty or not. Well let me be 100% honest, there is one character in this book that I hated and I would be happy to kick his ass any day of the week.
Book 1 is Awakening

Review for What it Takes By: Kathryn Ascher

What it Takes

Release Day May 27, 2014

After graduating college, Kelsey Morgan left her small-town Virginia roots to make it in LA. After years slogging in commercials and music videos, her movie career is finally taking off. But she's still miles behind her current costar, and Hollywood playboy, Patrick Lyons. Kelsey does everything she can to avoid Patrick off-set, hoping to not become fodder for the supermarket tabloids that scour the streets for Patrick, trying to get an exclusive look at him and his alleged woman of the week. Kelsey has successfully kept Patrick at a distance, and her reputation intact, until her drunkard brother-in-law Richard threatens to ruin everything by selling her darkest secret to the highest bidder. Now the victim of blackmail, Kelsey has nowhere else to turn but to Patrick's arms. But, can he be trusted? Or will the past destroy them all before she can find out if he's the hero she needs?

My Review:

I got this book from Net Galley and I am so glad that I did. This book is very good. I don’t like calling it a book…let me start over this story is very good. Kathryn Ascher you did an amazing job with the story! Cheers to you girl!
Kelsey is way stronger then I will ever be and she puts up with so much crap from people. Her boyfriend is a douchbag and she deserves way better than him. She lets the love for him consume her whole life and she loses herself at the same time. Her mother is very old school. You know the whole; you give your man anything and everything as long as he is happy. Well trust me I have heard that before. Then something happens and it changes her entire life and everyone around her! Then she picks up and goes to L.A. to start her movie career.
Patrick is a hot sexy movie start. He is making a movie and Kelsey is one of his co-stars. Kelsey already knows what kind of man he is and is not willing to let herself fall for him. I don’t blame her…or do I?! Well being the man that his is, he is use to girls and women falling all over him. It leaves him speechless that she doesn’t even want to be around him. But he is not how the magazines portrays him, AT ALL. No one really knows him and people just assume he is what the ink says he is.
This book again is so good! I was an emotional wreck in this book. I was feeling so many different emotions. I wanted to hit something, well let’s be honest I wanted to hit Tim, her mother, and Richard. I had to finish this book I didn’t want to put this book down at all! I was in complete shock because I never seen any of this coming, that I how good this book was written, so thank you for that. I was very sad that the book was done. I really hope that she continues this story, because I would so read it!!

Kathryn Ascher

Born and raised in Virginia, Kathryn Ascher tried her hand at poetry and fiction in high school, but put it all aside when she went to college. After graduating from Virginia Tech with her degree in communications, she married her college sweetheart and went to work for a local radio station. After her first child was born, she became a stay-at-home mom and began spending her free time crafting and reading.

It wasn’t until after the birth of her third child and a blind book exchange that Kathryn decided to give writing another try. When she picked up her first romance novel, she immediately knew that was the genre for her. She was drawn to the strong lead characters and the quirky secondary characters, the settings, the humor, and most importantly the feelings of falling in love for the first time. She hopes that her readers enjoy these aspects in her writings as well.

Kathryn recently moved from Roanoke, Virginia to Land O' Lakes, Florida with her husband and three children.

Review for Captive in the Strom by Edward A Stanbridge

Captive in the Storm
By Edward Stanbridge

My Review:

I love every part of Christopher and Ally’s story. I can’t tell you how many times I have messaged Edward Stanbridge on Twitter and told him that I need him to write the next part, and then the next part after that one. I can’t get enough of this story, it is sexy, steamy, and oh my goodness….
Christopher Harrington is so… what is the word, oh yes delicious. He is sex on a stick! He is an elegant well-mannered businessman, who I want! Not going to lie! There I said it! I need him and I want him, everyday all day. Oh did I mention that he has a 12th century castle! Yeah, I am sure that got your attention all right.
Allison Cunningham is a beautiful, gorgeous, business woman. She is all business and no play. Ally and Christopher have been friends for many years, they went to college together. One time in college, let’s just say they explored on another. Ally is on her way to meet up with Christopher at his home, his Castle to go over a new project with him.
Ally and Christopher go through some things in each part, but I guarantee each and every chapter will leave you wanting so much more. Every time a new part comes out I have to re-read all of them. The writing is brilliant and Edward Stanbridge will suck you into their world, without a doubt. I can sit here and tell you the entire story, but it isn’t finished yet! But I love it and I can’t wait to read all the parts that he writes, why… because he is amazing!
So go now……and read Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Like I said before you will love every word he writes, I know I do.
Oh….did I tell you that there is a dungeon in this story too!!

Here are the links to Parts 1-6!! Go and read it now ;)

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

About the Author

I am lucky to have so many different passions in my life and be able to share them through literature. I want to explore the best as well as the worst there is in human nature by crafting stories that I wish will compell the reader to open his mind to a new perspective.

I often use clichés and taboos in my stories and try to work them from a new angle because I truly believe that nothing in this world is what it seems.

If only one of my stories can make you smile or cry, I will have accomplished much more than I ever wished for.
